About Sonshine Preschool

Sonshine Preschool is a weekday preschool located in Spring Hills Baptist Church. Our mission is to minister to families by providing children with a positive preschool learning experience in a loving, Christ-centered environment. The curriculum addresses the spiritual, academic, social, and physical needs of the children. Our preschool and pre-kindergarten classes follow the Early Learning Content Standards from the Ohio Department of Education and are designed to prepare children for a successful kindergarten experience. It is our goal to share God’s love as we teach and care for children, encourage parents, and help build up the home.

Spelling Sonshine with an ‘o’ is not a mistake. The use of the word sunshine is to represent a bright, fun, happy place to grow and learn. And, the use of ‘son’ is to represent Jesus who is the Son of God.

History of Sonshine Preschool

Sonshine Preschool opened in 1991 in the Granville home of Director Anita Jones. It began with two classes and a total of 12 students. By 1992, there was such an increased demand that Sonshine Preschool moved to Spring Hills Baptist Church with four classes and 44 students. Twelve years later, Sonshine Preschool moved to its current location in the new preschool wing of the church. The current facility offers bigger classrooms, indoor multi-level jungle gym and play area, larger outdoor play areas, and a lot more! Today, Sonshine Preschool continues to grow and now has nine classes, 15 staff members, and 130 students.
