3/4 Year Old Class Information

(Children must be potty trained and 3 by Sept. 30.)

This is your child’s first step on their educational journey, and we want to make sure it’s successful and fun. This class will focus on helping children with social skills, communication skills and building friendships. Each day they will also be exposed to a Bible lesson, math, reading, writing and social studies at their level and specials like music, dancing, and fitness.

Pre-kindergarten Class Information

(Children who are 4 by Sept. 30)

The main goal of this class is to make sure your child is prepared to go to Kindergarten. Our pre-kindergarten curriculum is designed to further advance math and reading skills to a higher level in a play-based atmosphere. We provide fun, yet challenging activities that allow your child to develop the skills and confidence needed to take that first ride on the school bus to kindergarten.

At this stage, it is imperative to have your child enrolled in a high-quality educational program. That is why at Sonshine Preschool, we put top priority on a low teacher-to-student ratio, allowing children to receive more individualized attention. Children are exposed to basic math and phonics-based pre-reading programs. Our preschool and pre-kindergarten classes follow the Early Learning Content Standards from the Ohio Department of Education and are designed to prepare children for a successful kindergarten experience. Emphasis is placed on having fun and receiving lots of praise while exploring our hands-on learning activities.

· Visits from local community helpers, doctors, museums and libraries, and other experts are incorporated into the classroom to provide a real-world learning experience.

· Enrichment programs, such as fitness, art, music, and manners are incorporated into each preschooler’s daily schedule.
